Waiting for Parson Brown?

These in-between days of the holidays, while the lights are still lit and the spirit is still in the air, make a perfect moment even more special. Is there a proposal waiting to be asked? If so- we at The Denver Traveler would like to help set the scene with a few fabulous Denver locations.
Want a fast paced glittery wedded life? Pop the question under the gold glimmer of the lights lining Larimer Square (Larimer between 14th and 15th). Browse through the boutiques, dream about a combined kitchen through William Sonoma, share a bag of roasted chestnuts, have a laugh at Comedy Works and then find a good spot to ask THE question. There are plenty of benches, there is mood glow from the holiday lights, and the up beat energy will set the stage- it may even camouflage your knocking knees.
When you envision a life together with your love is it more about setting a strolling quiet pace? Then look no further than Stapleton’s pedestrian park at the 29th Avenue Old Town Center (29th Avenue off of Quebec). There are quaint shops and restaurants to frame the evening all along 29th Avenue. Suggest a walk through the park to admire the delicate white lights adorning the trees and shining off the snow covered pathways. Pause for a moment under one of these trees or brush off a bench- perhaps be prepared with a blanket- if a more lengthy proposal is in order. Ask the sweetest question ever. You can even top it off with some Cold Stone!
Now- if your love is a homebody in the most charming of old fashioned ways and you cannot think of anything better than setting up house and cozying for, well, forever- may we recommend a destination that may have skipped one’s mind when planning such an occasion. There is a house around 36th and Federal, across the street from the Masonic Temple in North Denver. It is on 36th and gleams with homey pride! One look at the tasteful decorations and the inviting lit up tree on the second floor patio transports one to the time of Little Women or Meet Me in St. Louis. Fill a thermos with some hot chocolate, bring a mixed cd of all your favorite songs and take your love for a drive. Stop by this house. Muse out loud about the life you two could live in such a cottage home and then pose the question for real.
May you all be joined in happy matrimony in time for holidays next year and for all the holidays to come!
