The Stock Show is Here!
If you’re a cowboy, or just wish you were one, you need to get down to the National Western Stock Show!
Held at the Denver Coliseum and the 100 acre National Western Complex, there are a plethora of things to do and see! There is a full on Rodeo, featuring Bronco Busting, Bull Riding, Roping, Barrel Racing, and Steer Wrestling. The Stock Show Rodeo was voted the PRCA Indoor Rodeo of the year! There is also a Mexican Rodeo, and an American Heritage Rodeo as well!
Rodeo not your thing? Well there is a Stock Show, where you can see up to 20 different breeds of cattle. Don’t forget about the horses! The Horse Shows feature everything from American Paint horses to Draft horses and Mules! Although most of the horse events are included in the price of admission, some of the events such as An Evening of Dancing Horses require an additional ticket to attend.
As if all of that wasn’t enough, there are also special events taking place all during the show. There are two Wild West shows, which are patterned after the great Buffalo Bill shows that entertained generations ago. Also be sure to catch the Junior Livestock Champions, where the best of the best of the youngest cowpokes get to show off their hard work and the beautiful animals they have raised.
Horses and Cattle aren’t the only animals taking center stage. Don’t miss Super Dogs, where 20 dogs show their stuff in feats of agility and intelligence.
There’s so much to see and do, we just can’t fit it all here! So get your ten gallon hat, dust off those boots, and get down to the Stock Show and see it all for yourself! It’s the biggest thing in Denver right now, so check it out!
