To Honor Cesar Chavez all city agencies will be closed today- Monday, March 31st.
This means, City Government and all the Denver Public Libraries will be closed for business.

To Honor Cesar Chavez, The Denver Traveler asks you all to thank a Farm Worker, Field Worker, Crop Planter, or Gardener. At the very least have a tasty salad and celebrate the fact that people work very hard to work the land to provide the produce and Cesar Chavez devoted his life to their rights.

César Estrada Chávez was born on March 31, 1927 and sadly passed away on April 23, 1993. Chávez was one of the founders of the United Farm Workers Union (UFW) and dedicated his life’s work to obtain and maintain equality, justice and dignity for farm workers across the U.S., through tactful non-violent strategies, such as strikes, boycotts, fasts and pilgrimages.
