The Denver Traveler

Denver has the honor of hosting the National Performing Arts Convention (NPAC)- taking place this June 11th through the 14th. More than 3,000 members of the performing arts community will convene to explore and discuss the state of performing arts in our nation. NPAC is based at The Colorado Convention Center and will host many lectures, speeches, discussions and symposiums encompassing all the art forms: Dance, Music, Opera, Theatre and Choral Music.

Today, June 6th, marked the opening day for the 2008 Opera Season up in Central City! This years season is packed with some exciting shows and runs through the summer,  so anytime you have a trip planned, you can add a night at the Opera in the beautiful Mountains as well!

The Central City Opera House was built in 1878 and had a fine grand opening, only to be followed by the mines of Central City panning out and the Exquisite Theatre fell into disrepair. However, a volunteer effort to restore the building took place in 1932 and the splendor …read more
