Sweet Tooth?

by Shawn Marie on November 21st, 2007

You’ve made it through Black Friday and are now perhaps craving something sweet? There is no better place to sweeten up your holiday perspective than Hammonds Candies- a Denver landmark and tradition since 1920. Hammond’s Candies has been featured several times on the Food Network, and is probably most famous for their delicious handmade ribbon candy.

Ribbon Candy

Hammond’s Candies is the nation’s leading handmade hard candy factory. Their traditional recipes all come together through time honored methods. Take a tour of the factory to see for yourself. See candy canes being made right before your eyes, from cooking to flavoring to shaping until the final product is wrapped by hand and ready for enjoying! A free sample of candy is given to every person on the free tour as an added bonus.

Shop in the store to wow the kid in everyone on your list. The tours are free and run everyday until 3pm Monday through Saturday. (Reservations are requested for groups over 9.) The store stays open until 4pm the same days.

If you are in town the first two Saturdays in December, the 1st and 8th, be sure to explore Hammond’s Candies famous Candy Cane Festival! Crafts for kids, a train, Santa Claus and lots of Candy!

Hammond’s Candies is located at 5735 N Washington Street, Denver, Colorado.
