The Denver Public Library and Fresh City Life, have launched a new Thinkology Series entitled, Wild Wilde West. This series of events invites you to think about those moments when you work to keep your private persona sacred, while our culture makes ever greater demands on our privacy.

Wild Wilde West kicks off this Saturday, April 26th with American Girls Playing Cowboys. This discussion will focus mainly on Calamity Jane and Willa Cather. Geoffrey Bateman, who teaches rhetoric and writing, at The University of Denver will take the conversation into further depths by examining whether this time in history allowed women freedom by defying traditional gender roles.

2-4pm, Central Library, Level b2 Conference Center

Future Topics:
Scoundrels and Scallywags
The Second Mrs. Tabor: Floozy or Folk Heroine
The Buffalo Bill Nobody Knows
And-
Stories That Could be True- a discussion about Oscar Wilde’s long letter of Apology, De Profundis.
