Friends Have Benefits
Mark your calendars for Friday, June 13, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm for the Denver Public Library’s Friends Foundation Used Book Sale Preview Party!
Friends Members will enjoy light refreshments, wine, music and friends, all outside under the tents north of the Central Library. If you are not currently a ‘Friend’ of the Denver Public Library, this is a great opportunity for you to join the Friends Foundation and show your support for our great Library.
The main sale, which happens June 14th and 15th, features more than 50,000 items, beginning at just 50 cents for paperbacks. It is an event that is not to be missed and all the proceeds go toward sustaining the Denver Public Library. The Preview Party, in addition to the main sale items, this year will feature some fantastic selections:
~ First editions of the first four volumes of Earth’s Children by Jean Auel; includes The Clan of the Cave Bear, The Mammoth Hunters, The Valley of the Horses, and The Plains of Passage for $100.
~ Abraham Lincoln by Carl Sandberg, Sangamon Edition, six volumes, illustrated with photographs and facsimiles for $45
~The Covenant by James Michener, signed by the author for $25
~Colorado on Glass by Terry Mangan for $75
~Eldest and Eragon by Christopher Paolini; two volume set in slipcase for $45
~ Many fine bindings and sets, including Messages and Papers of the Presidents; 20 volumes complete for $150
