The Louisville Public Library is offering a rare glimpse at the life of Eleanor Roosevelt through a character monologue that brings us back to the ’30’s when Franklin D. Roosevelt was the President of the United States. Susan Frontczak will portray Eleanor Roosevelt as she remembers what she accomplished during her tenure as First Lady while her husband served his first term.

Eleanor Roosevelt was perhaps the first First Lady to take on such a public and political role; helping to establish minimum wage, laws against child labor, women’s rights, civil rights, and a progress toward world peace. The enactment starts with Eleanor looking back and projecting forward in the year 1937, the start of her second term as first lady. This event is sponsored by The Colorado Humanities.
