If you haven’t heard already, today is 93.3’s Big Gig music festival out at Fiddler’s Green. What’s the Big Gig you might ask? Well, if you’ve ever been to Lollapalooza, the Warped Tour, or Ozzfest, you have a general idea of what to expect. An outdoor, all day concert featuring both big name groups and a bunch of super talented locals from right here in Colorado. The Cavaliers. The Phantom Regiment. The Blue Devils. The Madison Scouts. The Blue Knights. The Mandarins. The Santa Clara Vanguard.
What do all of these groups have in common?
Well, besides being rated as World Class Drum and Bugle Corps, they are also going to be right here in Denver this weekend, performing at Drums Along The Rockies. At 7:00 PM the first Corps will take to the field at Invesco Field at Mile High, continuing on their journey to the DCI World Championships.

It’s a sad day in the Colorado Local Music Scene.
Tickle Me Pink, a break out local band from Fort Collins, suffered a great loss this morning when band mates found bassist Johnny Schou dead. Today was supposed to be about celebration, as the band’s album Madeline was released nationwide today from Wind Up Records.
So far there is no official explanation of cause of death. The band was scheduled to perform today at Independent Records, but the performance has turned into a memorial gathering as other local bands and fans from all over Colorado converge to show support to Johnny’s band …read more

You would be hard pressed to find someone here in Denver who hasn’t heard of the Flobots. An extremely talented locally bred band of seven musicians (including a viola player and a trumpet player!), the Flobots’ break out hit “Handlebars” has been heard all over the country and just keeps gaining momentum. They’ve appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Carson Daly Show, as well as receiving awesome rotation in a number of radio stations.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor to the Mile High City, if you’re a music lover then you need to know about the Bluebird Theater!
Built in 1913, the Bluebird has gone through many faces in its 95 years of operation after starting out as a movie house. It began its life as a music venue in 1994, and has been rocking Denver ever since.
