Alicia and I first talked about The Denver Mint back in December, but it is worth mentioning again and is most certainly a Must See when visiting the Mile High City.
There are six United States Mint facilities across this country, each of them devoted to a certain division of minting all of that glorious money. Physical tours are available in only two cities and Denver is one of them!

I still remember the first time Shawn Marie and I drove down Broadway and I saw Flossy McGrew’s. As we neared the place I saw the sun glinting off of what looked like a skeleton in a coffin, adorned with chains and other grinning skulls. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to the Mile High City, if you’re a music lover then you need to know about the Bluebird Theater!
Built in 1913, the Bluebird has gone through many faces in its 95 years of operation after starting out as a movie house. It began its life as a music venue in 1994, and has been rocking Denver ever since. When catching a glimpse of Colorado’s Capitol Building you may imagine yourself to be in Georgia or Iowa if you have only noticed the Gold Dome. However, if you take a longer look and go beyond the Dazzling top of the building decorating Denver’s skyline- why you might just feel like you are in the Nation’s Capitol itself! Today, June 6th, marked the opening day for the 2008 Opera Season up in Central City! This years season is packed with some exciting shows and runs through the summer, so anytime you have a trip planned, you can add a night at the Opera in the beautiful Mountains as well!

Telluride, Colorado is not only a part time home to Oprah, Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes, Christie Brinkley, and Oliver Stone- it is also one of Colorado’s hottest spots to visit, even when it is so very cold!
The weather isn’t something to get in the way of Telluride’s rhythm in the least. When the sun shines you can go rafting, hiking, rock climbing, fly-fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding or take a 4 X 4 tour.
