Unresolved?

Trying to make your New Year Resolutions? Coming up blank? The Denver Public Library would like to help. Here is a list of ideas to get you started. Naturally, the first on the list is to read more- who can argue with that one?!
Were you hoping to be more, shall we say, soul searching this New Year? Want to resolve to be inspired from the inside out? Take a short drive up to Boulder and check out Naropa University. As stated on their website, “The heart of Naropa University is contemplative education—a philosophy that asks each community member to live with awareness and respect for one another and the world.” Naropa has been blending the best of Eastern and Western Education since 1974. They offer degrees and certificates, on-line courses, low residency courses and classes for the community.
If your idea for the New Year was to resolve to help others, Denver offers many opportunities to give back. Volunteers of America has a very active branch here. Want to be a Big Brother or Sister? Would you like to help make a difference in the AIDS pandemic? Reach out to the Colorado Aids Project or the Women’s Lighthouse Project. Leaning more towards helping individual communities, look into The Center or The League of Women Voters. Thinking more along the lines of getting your hands dirty and helping mother earth: The Park People and D.U.G- Denver Urban Gardens would love your help.
Here’s a fun link to give you one more chance at a countdown- just in case you were sleeping at midnight, or perhaps you need a more affirmative cyber greeting to get you thinking about resolutions.
