Shelby’s is the place for you! Shelby’s Bar and Grill- where the locals have been gathering since 1906. Located at 18th and Glenarm, Shelby’s is the last free standing bar in Denver. The building started as a private home and even did a stint as a mortuary! Now, however, it is an unassuming and delightful treat of an establishment. Dark green booths and wooden tables, a small back room with books lining the walls with publication dates that ring back to the 1880’s. Drink specials and a menu that has something for everyone, whether you are craving bar food or something more substantial. The drinks are the tried and true kind, nothing frue frue or blended, but something that will pack a punch and make you say, “Cheers!” with abandon.
Open Monday through Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00am.

4:00pm to 6:30pm
11:00pm to 1:00am

I’m a black woman and I went to meet co-worker there for a quick drink. Inside the bartender said she wouldn’t serve me because I was sitting outside and a waitress was out there. The waitress outside would walk pass me like she couldn’t see me on the very small patio and pretend like I didn’t want a drink. My friend gave me her little stone for her free extra beer I guess, so when the waitress comes back I asked her for a drink and she tells me I have to go inside for a drink if I use the little stone. So I go back inside and the woman at the bar tells me I can’t get a drink with the stone because she didn’t give it to me and she will only give it to the person she gave it to??? So I’m like okay…can I get a beer and she tells me I have to get if from the waitress…I gave up and went back outside without a drink…the waitress sees me and knows i want a drink but refuses to serve me. Now I just got off work and just wanted one beer and couldn’t get decent service…I left and kept my money…wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone.
