Take a Detour, One Last Time
The Denver Detour, a neighborhood and women loving women friendly bar on east Colfax is picking up its roots and moving to the other side of town. Apparently the building that houses The Detour is being demolished and cleared away to allow for a residential high rise to, well, rise up in its place. Even though The Detour has a new home (The Den on West Colfax near Sheridan) to go to, it will be sad to see the coziness of its first and current home go away. Sad to not have the back and front entrance, to not watch the traffic- pedestrian and automotive- through its rainbow flagged windows, to snuggle up for a game of Scrabble and a mystery shot in one of their wooden booths, to try and find a spot to stand on Karaoke night, to watch or play pool or to see the darts fly over the tiny dance area.
